How does that work??

Ryan and I teach the 14-15 year olds in Sunday School. We all know that teaching a 45 minute lesson to teenagers is a daunting task. In the beginning of class we always chit chat for a minute. It is my way of getting to know my students better, bonding with them and just taking advantage of talking about what is going on with them. Today Cami was telling us that she dropped her i-Pod in water and fried it. I of course have dropped many cell phones, pagers in the water and they have all (I think) lived to tell the tale. I am a PRO at rescuing drowned electronics. I began instructing my class on what to do if your electronic happens to need CPR and how I gained these SKILLS. It all began when Melissa had my pager (thats right folks my Daddy let have a pager starting in 8th grade until I got my cell phone in 11th grade. I guess I can't complain about jr. high kids having cell phones.) on her, and Dustin threw her in the deep end of the pool. My Dad taught me how to rescue electronics from myself. And that is when it happened....my students said, "You had a pager!? How the heck did those things work anyways?". Yes, they seriously did not know how they worked. I had to explain that you simply called the pager (phone number) left a voice-mail or typed in the number that the owner of the pager needed to call. The pager would then beep/vibrate and the owner of the pager would either call back the number or call their voice-mail.

This is what mine looked like too. Just for old times :-)

Thats right at the ripe age of 24 I am getting old.
